Saddleworth Guest House
Oldam Evening Cronicle - 10th December 2006
Football legend Joe Royle really made the moos when he visited
Saddleworth to officially open a cowshed.
Joe, former manager of Oldham Athletic, cut the ribbon to open
new bed and breakfast, The Shippon in Grains Road , Delph.
The new venture is the brainchild of Alice Byrom who turned an
old, two storey building, next to her country farm home, into a
fully functional guest house.
Joe, who was welcomed by Alice, her family and friends, said: "It's
a beautiful place."
Joe was given a guided tour by Alice (60) a retired
local post lady. The former cowshed now houses a breakfast-dining
room filled with sofas where guests can relax and enjoy views of
the countryside.
Alice said "Joe is a really charming man. He was truly impressed
with the place. I was delighted Joe could take time out to
conduct the official opening." |
